On a private multi-day tour with Dirty Daves you'll hear proper tales — the interesting bits, the funny bits, the slightly outrageous bits, and the local legends that don't usually make it into the guidebooks. There's history in there, but it's wrapped up in banter rather than being delivered like a school lesson.

This is one of the things people mention most in reviews. They like that it doesn't feel like being stuck with a corporate tour guide who's reading from a script. It feels more like being shown around by someone who actually knows and loves the place, and who enjoys taking the piss a bit while he's at it.

Whether we're driving through Glencoe, heading up to Skye, or winding around Loch Ness, there's usually a story for the road. Some of them are true. Some of them might be slightly improved in the telling. Either way, they make the miles pass quicker.

If you want serious, po-faced historical commentary with no personality, there are plenty of other guides out there. If you want proper stories with some humour and personality, you're probably in the right place.
