This is our most comprehensive private tour of Scotland. Ten full days on the road with just you (or your group) and Dave — no big coaches, no strangers, no fixed script. We shape the whole trip around what you actually want to see and how fast (or slow) you want to go.

Over ten days we can cover a huge amount of ground: the Highlands, Loch Ness and Glencoe, the remote Outer Hebrides (Lewis & Harris), a full day on the Isle of Skye, the islands of Mull and Iona, and the historic Argyll region. It's the kind of trip that actually adds up to a proper experience of Scotland rather than a whistle-stop ticked list.

The route below is a proven starting point, not a rigid package. Want to spend longer on Skye, add a whisky distillery, swap an overnight, or skip something entirely? Just say the word. Everything is adjustable.

Perfect if you've got the time and want a proper, unhurried adventure that takes in the best of Scotland without the tourist-trap experience.

Sample 10-Day Route

Day 1 – Edinburgh/Glasgow to Pitlochry: Pick-up in Edinburgh or Glasgow → photo stop at the Queensferry Crossing → scenic Fife coastal route → Crail harbour → St Andrews driving tour (golf course, university, castle, cathedral) → optional Dunkeld/Hermitage stop → overnight in Pitlochry.
Day 2 – Pitlochry to Inverness: Dalwhinnie Whisky Distillery → Ruthven Barracks → Cairngorms National Park and Loch Morlich → Clava Cairns standing stones → Culloden Battlefield → overnight in Inverness.
Day 3 – Inverness to Ullapool + Ferry to Lewis: Loch Ness → Beauly Priory → Corrieshalloch Gorge → Ullapool → ferry across to the Isle of Lewis → overnight in Ullapool.
Day 4 – Isle of Lewis Day Tour: Full day exploring the Isle of Lewis, including its historic and scenic highlights → return to Ullapool in the evening.
Day 5 – South Harris + Ferry to Skye: Scenic South Harris loop → ferry from Tarbert (Harris) across to Uig on the Isle of Skye → overnight in Portree.
Day 6 – Isle of Skye Day Tour + Ferry to Mallaig: Full day exploring the Isle of Skye → evening ferry from Armadale to Mallaig → pass Glenfinnan → overnight in the Fort William area.
Day 7 – Fort William to Isle of Mull: Drive through Glencoe → scenic drive and ferry to the Isle of Mull → explore Tobermory and other parts of Mull → overnight in Craignure.
Day 8 – Staffa & Iona Day Tour: Full day visiting the island of Staffa (home of Fingal's Cave) and the historic Isle of Iona → return to Craignure in the evening.
Day 9 – Mull to Inveraray: Morning ferry back to Oban → time in Oban → Kilmartin Glen → Inveraray Castle → overnight in Inveraray.
Day 10 – Inveraray back to Glasgow or Edinburgh: Loch Lomond and a stop in the village of Luss → Hairy Coos near Kilmahog → Doune Castle → drop-off in Glasgow or Edinburgh.

Price & How It Works

Priced per group (max 8 people). Bigger groups bring the cost per person down.

Typical range: £1000–£1200 per day.

Final price depends on group size, exact itinerary, and time of year (summer is usually at the higher end). Ferry crossings to the Outer Hebrides and Mull are included.
