Sample 5-Day Itinerary

It's completely private — just you (or your group) and Dave. No big coaches, no strangers, and no rigid timetable. We shape the days around what you actually want to see and how fast (or slow) you want to go.

You'll get the classic Highland highlights — Loch Ness, Glencoe, Glenfinnan, the Cairngorms — plus a proper day exploring the Isle of Skye. The itinerary below is a proven starting point, not a fixed script. Want to add a whisky distillery, spend longer on Skye, or skip something? Just say the word.

Perfect if you want a private Highlands and Skye tour without the tourist-trap experience.

• Day 1 – Edinburgh to Aviemore: Leave Edinburgh → photo stop at the Queensferry Crossing → Pitlochry → Ruthven Barracks → Cairngorms National Park → overnight in Aviemore.
• Day 2 – Aviemore to the Isle of Skye: Whisky distillery stop → Clava Cairns standing stones → Culloden Battlefield → Inverness → Loch Ness → Eilean Donan Castle → arrive Isle of Skye for the night.
• Day 3 – Isle of Skye: Full day exploring the Isle of Skye. Classic stops usually include the Old Man of Storr, the Quiraing, and other highlights depending on weather and what you fancy. Overnight on Skye.
• Day 4 – Skye to Oban: Leave Skye → Ben Nevis viewpoint and Commando Memorial → Glenfinnan Viaduct → Fort William → Glencoe → Castle Stalker viewpoint → arrive Oban.
• Day 5 – Oban to Edinburgh or Glasgow: Leave Oban → St Conan's Kirk → Kilchurn Castle → meet a hairy coo at Kilmahog → Callander → Doune Castle → drop-off with Edinburgh or Glasgow.

Price & How It Works

Tours are priced per group (maximum 8 people). The more people you bring, the better the value per person.

Typical price range: £1000–£1200 per day, depending on group size, the final itinerary, and the time of year. Peak season (especially summer) is usually at the higher end of the range.
